Keep Moving Forward

As my wife and I reflect on our 9 months of marriage (& counting), I can’t help but to acknowledge tremendous growth as a couple, as individuals, and in our faith. As it turns out great things can happen to newlyweds who are quarantined indefinitely following their wedding.

But seriously, this time has brought up countless discussions, reflections, and goals that are ever-changing. I am reminded of how quickly our lives can change and how easy it is for excuses to creep in and cause focus and determination to drift. In these past few months, I’ve found myself asking the same questions:

“What’s the goal?”

“What’s the point?”

“What should I do?”

While the answer isn’t necessarily simple, it’s critical not to overthink it. Be prayerful, be mindful, and just move. As long as your movement aligns with your values, there are no wrong steps - only growth. Just remember to course-correct along the way.

Side note: During times of reflection, I find myself listening to some of my older music I wrote when I was in a much different stage of life - very lonely and confused. These songs allow me to reset my perspective and realize just how far I’ve come (all glory to God!). Sometimes a healthy dose of perspective is all it takes. I’ve learned that great things can come from brokenness and uncertainty. If you’d like, you can click below if you’d like to hear a younger Jeremy express himself vulnerably through music.
